About Us
Hello, thank you for taking an interest in Gray Fox Property Services LLC. We are a small family owned and operated excavation / landscaping company. The founder and owner, David Alden, has over 20 years experience in the excavation and landscape installation field. Includes tech school and continued education, as well as years of working experience.
The next summer I was working part time doing landscape maintenance for NH Fish and Game’s Access and Engineering dept. I worked there for two summers there gaining some basic knowledge and experience with different tools, and
really enjoying seeing how nice you can make a outdoor space look.
After I graduated I started working with one of my friends at a small land development company as a laborer and really started learning residential site work. I worked there for a year on a development in Farmington and Effingham.
I moved on to one of the premier landscape company’s in the lakes region out of Wolfeboro. This time doing landscape installation and maintenance working on some of the nicest homes on Lake Winnipesaukee, just strengthening my urge to play in the dirt. I moved to doing just hardscaping, and eventually moved to operating a mini excavator for the company after my experience and interests were known.
I bounced around a little and worked for a couple big companies as a laborer as a pipe fitter for water and sewer, a little drainage work and building roads. Good experience seeing what the trench side of the job site was all about.
After a few years I decided I wanted to learn more on equipment. I had found a school in Brentwood NH that taught proper equipment operation, maintenance, blueprints, laser leveling systems and how a job site works, all of which I am certified or licensed in. I attended to get some experience that would get me in the door as an operator in a construction company.
After graduating school I got a job with an excavation company operating a 325 Cat, doing site work for a development in Bartlett NH. Installing roads, drainage, water mains, stumping, and house lot prep, grading, digging foundations. I was now getting good experience on not only an excavator but bulldozer, vibratory roll, and loader.
I now have years of experience in all stages of landscaping and site work I moved on again to work for the Town of Wolfeboro. I could put all my experience to use, and learn a great deal about maintenance of roads and major systems. They also send you to classes through UNH the T-2 road scholar program, where over four years I became certified in culvert installation, snow plowing and proper road treating practices, dirt road maintenance and backhoe operation and drainage systems. I also gained even more experience plowing, my CDL, operating equipment, and maintenance and installation of roads, curbing, and drainage systems.
Moving on once again, I left the town and went to Coleman Concrete as the loader operator, I loved that job and stayed for five years, then became plant manager shortly before I left. While at colemans I was improving my financial situation to put myself in a position to buy some equipment and maybe work for myself someday. In 2021 I purchased a used excavator, trailer, dump truck and posted an ad on Facebook, next thing you know I had enough work to take the plunge and make a longtime dream reality.
After all of the schooling and 20 years of experience, including my family to learn the trade young and give them a successful future. We focus on the customer and quality of work for a reasonable price. Not that any of this has been easy, but 100% worth the effort. Seeing a yard transformed, and the customers reaction is a great feeling.
Thats my story, long as it is, Thank you for taking interest in my business, it is truly appreciated!
